Emma almost canceled dinner that Friday night.
After a long week at work, staying home with a movie sounded much more appealing than meeting friends at a crowded downtown restaurant.

They introduced themselves and began talking.

They discovered they both loved traveling, enjoyed the same music, and had even attended the same university years apart.

Eventually one of Emma’s friends texted asking where she had disappeared to.
She laughed and showed Alex the message.
“I should probably go back.”
“So should I.”

“I’d really like to see you again,” Alex said.
“So would I.”

“You disappeared for twenty minutes!”
“I met someone.”
“No way.”
Alex simply smiled.
The next day they met for coffee.
